Cardiac surgery

The Cardiothoracic Surgery Department at Hygeia Hospital Tirana consists of four specialized cardiac surgeons with extensive experience in heart surgery. Their primary goal is to provide high-quality, safe, and above all, effective care for cardiac patients. The department has at its disposal two modern operating rooms, fully equipped with advanced devices and technology to handle all types of adult heart surgeries. The most advanced techniques used in leading hospitals worldwide are successfully applied here.

To ensure smooth procedures and optimal patient management, the cardiac surgery team works closely with the anesthesiology and intensive care teams — not only during the operation but also throughout the postoperative care. Patients are followed in the Intensive Care Unit, where a team of experienced and specially trained reanimation doctors and nurses deliver advanced cardiac medical care 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
